Q: What is a software escrow?
A: A software escrow protects a software licensee by ensuring that the licensee will have access to the source code in the event that the licensor goes out of business, discontinues support of the licensed software, breaches maintenance obligation, or some other release condition occurs.
Q: Do you provide a template Agreement?
A: Yes, we provide the template Agreement for each Escrow type, as well as instructions, registrations forms, and sample language for release conditions.
Q: What companies use EscrowTech?
A: EscrowTech has thousands of clients. We service over 200 of the Fortune 500 companies and over 50% of the Fortune 50. EscrowTech also frequently works with individual developers and small businesses. Upon request, EscrowTech will provide a list of references.
Q: How much does it cost to setup a Software Escrow and what are the setup fees?
A: EscrowTech doesn't have setup fees! We also post our prices.
Q: Do you charge extra for changes to the Agreement?
A: We do not charge extra if you have questions about the language in the Agreement. While some customizations to the agreement may change the fees, we will not charge you for the the time and effort associated with customizing the agreement. As long as you use our template Agreement, we are happy to help in any way possible.
Q: Do you have legal counsel?
A: One of the founders of EscrowTech, Jon Christiansen, is an intellectual property attorney, and serves as counsel to EscrowTech. Jon has over 20 years experience in intellectual property law.
Q: How do I set up an Escrow?

Q: What are the differences between the types of Escrows?
There are two primary types of Software Escrows: single beneficiary "SB" and multiple beneficiary "MB". EscrowTech also provides escrows that allow for the separation of products and other similar variations. Q: What kind of payment do you accept?
A: EscrowTech accepts checks and all major credit cards through our online payment. You will receive an invoice with instructions after the escrow is set up.
Q: How can I make a Deposit? Where do I send the materials?
A: EscrowTech provides two options for submitting the Deposit Materials. You may submit the materials on physical media (CD/DVD/etc) or you may use EscrowTech's FTP service to upload the Deposit Materials. Additional instructions for both of these methods can be found on our deposits web page.
Q: Can EscrowTech do a technical verification on the Deposit Materials? How much does it cost?
